How to convert us liquid gallons to liters
Common for converting US fuel and container capacity to metric units. CalcOS converts through the cubic meter and keeps the selected volume system explicit throughout the calculation.
Worked example: 5 US gal = 18.92705892 L.

Which gallon or cup does this page use?
This route uses the US liquid gallon. The unit selectors keep that variant visible. Imperial gallons, metric cups, legal nutrition cups, and other regional cooking measures are different quantities and must be selected or handled explicitly.
Volume is cubic length
A cubic meter is the volume of a cube one meter on each side. Liters and milliliters are exact decimal relationships to the cubic meter. US customary liquid units are defined through exact cubic-inch relationships.
