US dry measure is its own volume system
CalcOS converts every supported dry measure through the cubic meter. The US bushel is exactly 2,150.42 cubic inches; the peck, dry gallon, dry quart, and dry pint follow the defined dry-measure relationships.
Every customary unit includes “US dry” or another explicit dry-measure name. Unlabeled pints, quarts, and gallons are deliberately excluded.
Supported US dry measures
| Unit | Exact cubic inches | Relationship |
|---|---|---|
| US dry pint | 33.6003125 | 1/64 bushel |
| US dry quart | 67.200625 | 2 dry pints |
| US dry gallon | 268.8025 | 8 dry pints |
| US peck | 537.605 | 1/4 bushel |
| US bushel | 2,150.42 | 4 pecks |
Dry gallon is not liquid gallon
One US dry gallon is approximately 4.40488377086 liters. One US liquid gallon is exactly 3.785411784 liters. CalcOS places them in separate converter families, so selecting a liquid unit inside this dry-measure calculator is impossible.
Volume does not determine commodity mass
A bushel is a volume here, not a crop-specific weight. Converting grain, produce, or another commodity from bushels to pounds requires a commodity and an applicable weight-per-bushel rule; this calculator does not infer either.
