How to convert radians to degrees
Used in mathematics, physics, engineering, programming, and trigonometry. CalcOS retains π in the governing definition and rounds only the displayed numerical result.
degrees = radians × 180 ÷ π
Worked example: 3.14159265359 rad = 180 °.
Radians to Degrees common-angle table
| radian (rad) | degree (°) |
|---|---|
| 0 | 0 |
| 0.523598775598 | 30 |
| 0.785398163397 | 45 |
| 1.0471975512 | 60 |
| 1.57079632679 | 90 |
| 3.14159265359 | 180 |
| 6.28318530718 | 360 |
Radians and degrees measure the same angle
The radian is the SI coherent unit of plane angle. Degrees remain accepted for use with SI and are defined by the exact relationship 1° = π/180 rad.
